If you have purchased a PC from us with Microsoft Windows on it, then it will activate the first time you connect to the internet, usually at set-up.
If Windows has not activated, please connect the PC to the internet and follow the next steps. Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation . You’ll be able to confirm that your Windows 10 has been activated and that your Microsoft account is associated with your digital license.
If windows does not activate with the troubleshooter, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click to check for updates now. Download and install any updates and after a reboot return to the Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and in the Optional updates available area find the link to download and install the update hotfix KB5000842 .
If this does not resolve the issue, please follow the below instructions:
The Windows 10 licence keys are digital and are injected into the BIOS of the computer. If a licence key has been flashed into the BIOS, it can be read by using the following command:
1) Open an elevated command prompt by typing cmd in the windows search and then by right clicking the command icon and clicking ‘run as administrator’
2) Copy and paste the following command: wmic path softwarelicensingservice get oa3xoriginalproductkey
That command will pull the injected key from the BIOS which you should be able to activate from that but there’s another 2 commands that can also do it (the xxxx charcaters should be replace by your licence key):
slmgr.vbs /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Puts the key into windows and checks it’s a valid license
slmgr.vbs /ato
Forces an online activation
If this does not resolve the issue, please contact us quoting the Serial Number on your PC and we will get you up and running as quick as we can.
