How to reset your USB Controllers
If you have recently discovered your USB ports have stopped working on your PC, if this affects more than one USB and perhaps suddenly they just stopped working? Try this and see if it resolves your issue
Open device manager and check USB Controllers
There are two steps to this.
Step 1 Scan for hardware changes
Step 2 Re-enable USB controllers.
This should work in Windows 10 & 11.
Step 1: Scan for Hardware Changes
1: Click in the windows search bar (or tap win+S) start typing the word device and then open the application module "Device Manager".
2: Right-click on the name of your computer and choose the Scan for hardware changes option. Then, you need to wait until the scanning process ends.
Step 2: Re-enable the USB Controller
1: In the Device Manager find Universal Serial Bus Controllers in the list and open the sub menu.
2: Right-click on the USB controller and then choose Uninstall from the popup list to uninstall the USB controller.
3: Repeat this to uninstall all the USB controllers.
Restart the computer and Windows will re-install the USB controllers automatically.
