Fix the BIOS lock-up on the A520M-S2H after total power off
We are aware of occasional instances of PC systems built with the A520M-S2H motherboard failing to boot for the first time after a total mains power disconnect for a period of time. This results in a black screen and failure to display.
Use Q-flash plus to update the BIOS to version F12
If your PC won't boot, you can use the Q-Flash Plus feature on your motherboard to update the BIOS to version F12 which has the fix for this issue.
Firstly, you should create your flash USB drive. Choose an empty low capacity USB drive (32GB or less). Download the attached GIGABYTE.bin file and save to the USB drive.
Now insert the USB drive into the USB port circled in blue in the diagram below at the rear of the target PC. With the PC switched off but with power to the power supply of the PC and the power supply turned on at the rear, you should now press the 'Q-Flash Plus' button on your PC motherboard which is next to the USB port and marked with the red arrow in the diagram. Do not remove the USB until the motherboard light has stopped flashing and the PC has booted up
The PC must not be touched while the flash process is activated. Once complete, the PC will reboot and you can remove the USB from the rear.
