Windows 10 Licence keys are now digital, how can I see my licence key?
Your Windows 10 licence key is digitally injected into the computer BIOS so the key stays within the hardware of your motherboard even if you wipe and re-install Windows 10. If you would like to see your physical licence key, this can be done but only via a command line.
To see the licence key, please follow the instructions below:
1) Open an elevated command prompt by right clicking the command icon and clicking ‘run as administrator’
2) Copy and paste the following command: wmic path softwarelicensingservice get oa3xoriginalproductkey
That command will pull the injected key from the BIOS and display it in the command prompt window.
